CFTC to look again at Dodd-Frank rule making

A US court ruling has forced the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to conduct a cost-benefit analysis of several key provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act, in a move that could revive the acrimonious debate over European compatibility with swap execution facility (Sef) registration rules.

The ruling, while rejecting an attempt by the banking industry to limit the extraterritorial application of Dodd-Frank standards, poured doubt on the CFTC's rule-making approach to several issues.
