Foley soon to start at Rabobank
Rabobank has hired Jane Foley as senior FX strategist and executive director in London (FX Week, June 7). Foley starts on August 31 and will report to Jan Lambregts, global head of financial markets research. She joins from Gain Capital, where she was director of research and FX strategist; prior to that she worked at Barclays Capital as director of FX strategy.

Chen joins ING in options
ING has hired Philippe Chen from Citi in New York, according to market sources. Chen traded FX options and has previously traded options at BNP Paribas and Société Générale in Singapore (FX Week, October 2, 1995). Citi confirmed his departure but ING and Chen declined to comment.

Sparapan leaves Citi Milan
Alessandro Sparapan has left Citi in Milan, where he worked in FX institutional sales, reporting to London-based Alex Jackson, head of investor sales for Europe, including the UK. It is not clear where he is going. Citi confirmed his departure.

Tullet Prebon invests in McGuigan
Christopher McGuigan has joined Tullett Prebon Information as head of the Americas. McGuigan reports to Frank Desmond, managing director and global head of sales at Tullett Prebon Information. McGuigan most recently worked at MarketAxess, where he managed the data services business. He will be responsible for driving revenue growth across the Americas and will be a key member of Tullett Prebon Information's global sales team, the company said.

StanChart brings Arnold on board
Standard Chartered has hired David Arnold as head of financial market sales for South-east Asia – a newly created role. Based in Singapore, Arnold will report locally to David Carr, global head of sales for financial markets. Arnold was most recently based in Hong Kong as head of the institutional clients group (ICG) Asia at BNP Paribas, which he joined in 2007 (FX Week, April 5). He previously worked at Deutsche Bank, first in Sydney then relocating to Singapore in 2004 to head ICG Asia, ex-Japan business. Prior to that, Arnold was head of the ICG in Australia for the German bank. He joined Deutsche Bank in 1995.

BarCap sways Scott-Simons
Barclays Capital (BarCap) has hired Oliver Scott-Simons from Standard Chartered to its FX options desk in London. Scott-Simons joined in July as a director, trading exotic and long-dated FX options. He previously worked as a director and FX options trader at Standard Chartered with a reporting line to Philippe Lintern, global head of FX options, based in London. Previously, Scott-Simons traded exotic options at Dresdner and was eventually its global head of exotics options. BarCap and Standard Chartered declined to comment.

Sciard storms StormHarbour
Financial advisory firm StormHarbour has recruited Thierry Sciard in London as managing principal, due to start at the end of August. Sciard is a long-term associate of Antonio Cacorino, co-founder of StormHarbour. He will be responsible for the firm's European operations, as well as alternative assets globally. Sciard's most recent position until September 2009 was head of Fortis Investments' alternatives and solutions division in London. Previously, he was head of investment management for Europe and the Middle East at Lehman Brothers. He was previously head of Calyon's capital markets division, having spent the previous two years as head of fixed income at Crédit Agricole Indosuez. He has also worked at Citi, having started his finance career in 1981 at Bank of America.

Davie designated CEO of SwapClear
LCH.Clearnet has appointed Michael Davie as chief executive of SwapClear, its interest rate clearing service, it announced last week. Davie's focus will be on ensuring products and services are delivered to the buy side, and he will report to Roger Liddell, chief executive of LCH.Clearnet. Davie has more than 20 years' experience in financial services and has held a number of senior strategic, trading, marketing and operational positions during this time. He joins LCH.Clearnet from JP Morgan, where he was a managing director, and has worked at Bankers Trust and IBM.

SocGen nabs Richard Wolff from BarCap
Société Générale has hired Richard Wolff to head its US debt capital markets syndicate – a newly created position. Wolff will be based in New York and report locally to Arnaud Achour, head of capital markets and syndicate, Americas, and Eric Cherpion in London, global head of debt capital markets syndicate. Wolff joins the firm from Barclays Capital, where he had been a director on the US syndicate desk for the past 12 years, covering Yankee, industrial, utility and financial issuers.

HSBC promotes Kidawi to board director
HSBC India country head Naina Lal Kidwai has been promoted to a board director of the bank. Kidwai, who has been with HSBC since 2002, will join the board with effect from October 1, subject to regulatory approval from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. Michael Geoghegan, chief executive at HSBC, said the appointment is "a reflection of the growing importance of India in HSBC's emerging markets strategy''. Geoghegan himself relocated to Hong Kong from London last year as part of an effort to refocus the bank's business development in Asia.
