Asia single-currency suggested

Haruhiko Kuroda, president of the Asian Development Bank, has resurrected the notion of Asian monetary union, suggesting a single Asian currency could yet be a possibility. "Asia could make the third international currency or Asia-common currency soon," he is reported as telling a conference in Seoul. He said it was a more realistic approach than developing the special drawing rights as an international reserve currency, which he argued would take much longer.
