Bank of Chile gets multi-currency RTGS

The Bank of Chile (BoC) has extended its real-time gross settlement system (RTGS) to allow it to settle foreign exchange payments in foreign currencies as well as the Chilean peso. The upgrade, which went live in August, also enables settlement between Swift and non-Swift participants.

The system was developed by Logica, a London-based IT and business services company. The BoC has been using Logica's RTGS for peso-only settlement since 2004.
