Hedge funds to cut IT investment...

Hedge funds will cut their IT spending by more than 20% in 2009, claims a study by Boston-based Celent, a research and consultancy firm.

Spending on new technology will "take a back seat" the report says, and focus will be placed on achieving maximum efficiency from existing systems. Investment that is made will be to address risk management issues.

Celent also anticipates that cuts in Europe and Asia will be greater than those in the US.
