2001 FX boom continues

FRANKFURT -- 2001 looks set to be a great year for forex, as Deutsche Bank last week added its glowing nine-month FX trading figures to those announced by leader in the field Citigroup earlier this year.

Deutsche Bank’s trading profits for its FX, metals and commodities group were up 32% year-on-year to creep over the E1 billion mark for the first time at the September 30 stage.

That’s up from E759 million, reported last year at the nine-month period and E608 million in 1999, representing steady
