Lagarde guilty of negligence, court rules
IMF chief found guilty of negligence, but escapes punishment
International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde has been found guilty of negligence by a French court for failing to challenge a state payout in 2008.
However, no sentence has been passed and Lagarde will not face any punishment.
The case was brought to a specialist tribunal at the Cour de Justice de la République after Lagarde was accused of approving a payout to French businessman Bernard Tapie during her time as finance minister.
