In a year that has seen investors shy away from many major currencies, particularly the euro and the US dollar, the importance of emerging market currencies, including China's renminbi, has only grown. HSBC retains this year's awards for emerging currencies in Asia and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (Emea), as well as best bank for FX in Asia-Pacific.

The bank's continuing success is due to the depth and breadth of its client base, which comprises retail, mid-cap corporates, regional banks
